This truck began its life as a 1992 GMC Sonoma regular cab pick up. Since that simple beginning it has undergone many changes. General Motors directed the first. It was sent to PAS for it’s first factory transformation. PAS converted the vehicle to a Sonoma GT, which was a very limited production. Only 806 trucks were made. The Sonoma GT is one of the lowest production GMC trucks ever built. The GT was considered the “poor mans Syclone.” The GT came from the factory with a custom body kit and the same interior as the Syclone. There were two major, important differences: the lack of the turbo charged engine and no all wheel drive system. This enabled the dealer to sell this truck for considerable less money.

Now for the current transformation.

In December of 2004 I decided to visit Rad Rides. I told them about the truck I was building and that I needed help with a paint scheme. Jack and Troy promptly introduced me to Bob Thrash. I quickly asked Bob if he would be interested in doing a rendering for me. He said he would, but it was going to take some time. On Feb 16, 2005 Bob called me and said he had a rendering for me that he thought I would like. He showed me his drawings and that’s when I knew things were going to change.
I called Dave at Competition Fabrication. I asked him if he would be interested in working together on my truck again. We set up date and I brought in my build sheet with the truck. Since that time this truck has become a joint effort between Competition Fabrication and me. Our goal was to take a truck to the next level.
