The Sonoma GT rolled off the assembly line with a standard 4.3 Vortec V6 pushing 185hp matted to a 700R4. While this stock combo would be a good foundation for other custom builds, Syborg needed a bit more. After all, the same says it all… TWIN TURBO. Both engine and trans will start as bare components and filled with top name parts.
So…what will replace the tired Vortec V6? How about a Bowtie V6 topped off with a Pontiac heads and a sheet metal Hogan Intake. To add the punch a pair GTQ 32 turbos will help force air into that Hogan Intake. To get the power to the ground a Bowler prepped 4L80E will feed power to the Aluminum 9” rear differential. Why a V6? Simple…pull up next to Syborg TT and the next streetlight and you’ll get your answer.
